2018 Hanging Baskets

New Bloom

Calling all Shops, Businesses, Cafes, Pubs

To make Beverley shine Red, White and Blue in 2018.

Beverley Town Council is again running the very successful summer hanging basket scheme which over recent years has played a crucial role in the outstanding achievements of the town in the Yorkshire in Bloom campaign. For the last few years Beverley has achieved the Gold award and overall category winner. ’In 2017 we won the Yorkshire Rose ‘Best Town in
Yorkshire’ Beverley is a Britain in Bloom Finalist in 2018.

So we really need to pull our community together and display Beverley at its best! These awards are due to the inspiring ‘Beverley in Bloom’ group, a subgroup of the Town Council and their wonderful floral displays throughout the town, the Beverley Town Council summer colourful hanging baskets displayed in the town centre from June until September and ERYC feature planting of the flowerbeds.

This year, Beverley in Bloom’s theme again is a right royal ‘Going for Gold’, with Red, White and Blue hanging baskets to commemorate the centenary of the Great War and the centenary of the RAF.  We would like all shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and businesses in Beverley to get involved and support us in our aspirations to achieve a RHS Britain in Bloom Gold award. The hanging baskets are 16 inches in diameter and come planted with mature plants supplied locally. If you would like to play a part in improving the heart of our town and make a positive contribution to ensuring Beverley continues to become an even more vibrant and pleasant place in which to live, work and shop, then please join us.

The baskets, with a subsidised watering charge, cost £60 for one basket; additional baskets are available at the cost of £30 each. The Town Council realises that, in these challenging economic times, it is vital we all work together to ensure Beverley remains an attractive place to work, shop and enjoy leisure time. As a mark of our commitment to local businesses, we
are subsidising the watering charge (3 visits per week). We also erect the hanging container and remove them at the end of the season. The environmental hanging containers remain the property of Beverley Town Council and must not be discarded as they can be reused. Discarded hanging containers will be invoiced at an additional £30.
