Beverley Town Council provides two sources of grants and funding via its Grants Committee, and through its relationship with East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Commuted Sums team, as detailed below.

This committee administers the Beverley Town Council Grants Fund. Local groups or organisations are able to apply for small grants, up to £1,000, or large grants, up to £3,000, for specific projects and activities that directly benefit Beverley residents.

A wide variety of organisations are eligible for support, such as community associations, charities, cultural or educational groups, and sports clubs. They have to be based in one of the four parishes of Beverley or, if part of a national body, have an independent branch in Beverley itself. We can't give financial assistance to individuals.

The grants are intended to support and encourage the valuable work done mainly by volunteers and enthusiasts in our community, which contributes so much to the life of the town. The applicants have to show that their project will benefit Beverley residents. This might take the form of meeting the specific needs of the disadvantaged members of our community, or working to improve the life chances and wellbeing of people in particular neighbourhoods. Inclusive projects that benefit townspeople by expanding cultural opportunities or widening involvement in sporting participation are also welcome.

Commuted Sums

Beverley Town Council work with East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC), Molescroft Parish Council and Woodmansey Parish Council to consider projects eligible for "commuted sums" funding. Commuted sums are monies paid to ERYC by building developers in order to provide green and open spaces or attractions within Beverley and the surrounding area - e.g. children's' play areas.

If there is an area or project near you which you think needs funding, please let Beverley Town Council know and we will raise this in discussion with our local partners.
