Tesco Bags of Help Community Awards Scheme

Tesco Bags of Help Community Awards Scheme

Since Bags of Help was launched in 2016, £63,000 has already been awarded to schools and community groups in the Beverley area and there are now three new projects to vote for in our store:

1/ Walkington Charity Pre-school's bike balance challenge

2/ Keldmarsh Primary School's quiet area refurbishment

3/ Bishop Burton Parish Council's replacement of community benches

Our customers can vote for these projects up to 31st August and the one that receives the most votes will receive a grant of up to £4,000, second place receiving up to £2,000 and third place up to £1,000.

We're now looking for applications from other local school and groups who may be able to benefit from the scheme. The criteria for Tesco Bags of help funding has been widened to include not only environmental improvements or activities that support the sustainability of our outdoor environment such as school gardens and community allotments, but also for many other projects that will benefit our local community. These include purchasing items such as sports kits, improvements to a Scout or Guide hut and funding community events such as village fetes.

If you think that your school, group or project could benefit from the scheme and would like advice on your application, please contact:

Dave Ryley (beverley@communityattesco.co.uk / 07736 483690)

or

Karen Tozer (hull@groundwork.org.uk / 07963 028560 ).

Alternatively, please visit http://www.groundwork.org.uk/Sites/tescocommunityscheme

Full details on eligibility criteria are attached and please note that even if you have benefited from Tesco Bags of Help previously, you can still re-apply for a different project.
