Beverley Town Council is pleased to announce that Paul Coe has been coopted to be a councillor.
Following the sad passing of long-standing councillor Peter Astell at the end of last year, a seat became vacant in the Minster North Ward. When members of the public declined to hold a by-election, the responsibility for coopting a new member fell to the other councillors.
Paul is well-known as the chair of The Wombles of Beverley, a hugely popular local litter-picking and environmental group. Having previously shown interest in becoming a Town Councillor so as to do more for the local community, he is thrilled to have been coopted.
The cooption of Councillor Coe was unanimously approved at the meeting of Full Council on Monday 26th February 2024. He is looking forward to getting stuck in and serving the people of Beverley to the very best of his abilities.
