Christmas Festival of Food and Drink

The Beverley Christmas Festival of Food and Drink will be held on Saturday 23rd November from 10am to 4.00pm.  Taking place in Beverley Minster, it is a joint venture between the historic church and Beverley Town Council.

This seasonal event follows on from the success of the Beverley Food Festival held in October. Taking place inside the gloriously gothic Minster, this winter festival attracts the finest food and drink producers from across East Yorkshire.  Now in its eight year, it is free to attend and features over 60 stallholders offering a great variety of local produce.

From award winning beers and liqueurs, to pork pies, smoked fish, cheeses, chocolate and Christmas puddings, there will be a whole host of tasty treats on offer, all made with locally sourced ingredients and created by artisan producers. Samples will be available on some stalls, so you can try before you buy - a delicious variety of food and drink with something to please everyone.

Medieval style entertainment will be on offer, with other home-grown festive music including a visit from the Beverley Ukulele Band, and the All for One Choir.

Speaking about the event, the Mayor of Beverley Cllr Duncan Jack said: “This will be a great festive food festival in the Minster.  Again, we are delighted to be working in partnership with Beverley Minster to hold this prestigious local food event, which each year has gone from strength to strength. It helps to showcase the large variety and high quality of local food the area has to offer, whilst also showing the Minster in all its glory. The event brings in many residents and visitors to enjoy the festival day and see this magnificent building for themselves. It’s also an important event which helps to raise funds for the future of the Minster.”

Town Clerk, Helen Watson said: “Beverley Town Council welcomes residents and visitors to this festive seasonal local produce event. It promotes the best of Beverley and the high quality of local food and drink on offer in our area. We would encourage people of all ages to attend, as there will be lots to see and do, as well as stocking up delicious local fare and buying gifts for Christmas.  It’s also a great opportunity to come and visit the Minster and their wonderful gift shop and craft stalls.”
