A Photography Competition for 13-18 Year Olds
This competition is a joint venture between Beverley and its twin town Nogent-sur-Oise near Paris and their twin in Tuscany, Fuceccio
There is no cost to enter and no specialist equipment is needed – your phone will be enough to get a good image! The deadline is 20th December 2023 and entrants must be aged 13 to 18 years old.
It is hoped that the winning entries chosen from all 3 towns will be displayed in each of them during the summer term. The winners will be chosen based on the quality of the photo but also the title and caption attached to it. This should be no longer than 50 words and explain how it reflects the ideas of the competition theme of equality and diversity, the aspects of Beverley that are unique or link it to other places such as our European neighbours.
The entries should be emailed at any point up to the deadline to Martin Cox ( mcoxbeverley@aol.com ), including your name, age and preferred contact details.
Martin who is the current Chair of the Nogent-Beverley Twinning Association said, “I am delighted that this idea has been suggested by our friends in Fucecchio. It is a chance for young people to get involved and consider what is unique about Beverley but also what links people in different nations.”
Beverley Town Council has indicated its support for the competition, as has the Cherry Tree Centre youth work team.
Nigel Walker, a local photographer will run a session during the autumn term to give advice and share ideas. More details on request but the date is likely to be Sunday 12th November in the afternoon.
